Nowadays a sporting event without any appropriate supporting programme is not really worth doing. Exactly for this reason two Tyrol’s currently most successful music groups have been engaged for the coming week-end. The coverband “Böhmische” and DJ LEX will entertain you on Friday, DJ ERAZER on Saturday and on Sunday afternoon the successful “Bergdiamanten” from the Gsieser valley will take over.  We have made arrangements in this way for the right atmosphere!

A wide variety of participants have now registered for the “Gsieser”. Alongside the traditional cross-country nations, there will also be competitors from more exotic locations such as the Bahamas, Malaysia, Mexico and Hong Kong, representing a grand total of 34 countries from all over the world

Trail conditions: with over 50 cm of natural snow, this year promises outstanding conditions for both styles.

Car park: right next to the start/finish area. There are also 300 free parking spaces available for camper vans.

Chip: chips are issued free of charge to participants. Chips must be returned to the organisers in the finish area after each race. NB: participants who do not finish must also return their chips in the finish area.

Photo service: Marathon-Photos will be taking up to five photos of each participant. Our homepage gives details of how to order your photos.

New: The women’s changing rooms, WC and showers are in the basement of the St. Martin primary school; the men’s facilities are located in the basement of the multi-purpose hall in St. Martin.

Waxing tip: the official waxing recommendation can be found on our homepage www.valcasies.com from 09 a.m. on 15 February.

Information stand/Finish area: Stamping of Euroloppet passes, sale of meal vouchers to spectators, sale of merchandising products, lost property, general information.

Cross-country trails situation:
With on average of over 40 cm natural snow, this year’s many participants are naturally expecting outstanding conditions. Numerous participants are already training hard and forming their own impressions of the excellent conditions.

3 Olympic champions on the starting line-up:
The 3 Olympic victors from Turin, Christian “Zorro” Zorzi, Giorgio di Centa and Pietro Piller Cottrer, will all be appearing on the starting line-up along with local hero and defending skating event champion, top athlete Roland Clara. (more…)
